Domestic sugar production estimated to be less than 275 lakh tonnes

It looks like India is facing a significant drop in sugar production this season due to factors like lower sugarcane yields and reduced sucrose recovery.
The estimates from major organizations suggest a production level of less than 275 lakh tonnes, a sharp decrease from last year's 319.60 lakh tonnes.
This could create a supply issue by the end of the season, even though current stock levels are expected to help meet demand in the short term.
The decline in production is especially notable in major sugar-producing states like Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Karnataka.
The surge in domestic sugar prices could also be a result of these lower production levels. Additionally, the government's decision to allow the export of 10 lakh tonnes of sugar might further strain the market.
Do you think this will lead to any significant changes in sugar prices or impact consumer behavior in the coming months?
