Paranagua. Data released by Brazil's Foreign Trade Secretariat shows that during the first nine days of the current month, about 9.90 lakh tonnes of soybean meal were exported from the country, which is 60.2 percent more than the same period last year. Notably, a total of 21.60 lakh tonnes of soymeal were shipped from Brazil during the entire month of May 2024.

Brazil is the world's largest producer and exporter of soybeans and is also among the top three exporters of soybean oil and soybean meal.

So far in May 2025, average daily exports of soybean meal from Brazil have reached around 1.65 lakh tonnes. Soybean production in the country is projected to rise sharply this year, potentially reaching a record 1690 lakh tonnes. Some analysts estimate the output could fall within a range of 1680 to 1690 lakh tonnes.

Brazil’s federal agency, CONAB, has raised the soybean export estimate for the current year to 1060 lakh tonnes, with China expected to account for 70 percent of the total shipments. CONAB also forecasts domestic soybean production to reach 1683 lakh tonnes, the highest in the country’s history.

This year, soymeal prices in Brazil are lower compared to last year, which has attracted strong interest from foreign buyers. In the near future, the export performance of soybean and its value-added products—soy oil and soymeal—is expected to remain robust.
