HDollar Chickpea Prices Show Fluctuations in Madhya Pradesh

In April 2025, major markets of Madhya Pradesh — Indore, Ujjain, and Dewas — witnessed fluctuations in dollar chickpea prices. The rates of Indore Spot Container Export also drew special attention from traders and exporters.

At the beginning of the month, the average quality dollar chickpea in Indore was priced between ₹7500 and ₹9600 per quintal. Gradually, the prices rose and stabilized around ₹8000 to ₹9800 per quintal. For most of the month, prices remained steady with minor fluctuations.

In Ujjain, initial prices stood at ₹9000/9500. As of today, the market closed at ₹8500/9500. Ujjain also showed a steady trend in dollar chickpea prices, with occasional slight declines.

Prices in Dewas fell from ₹8500/9500 at the start of the month to ₹8000/9600 by the end of the month.

The 44/46 grade dollar chickpea traded between ₹11,150 and ₹11,700 per quintal, while the 46/48 grade traded between ₹10,800 and ₹11,250 per quintal.

Throughout the month, the dollar chickpea market maintained a balance between supply and demand.  

In the coming months, if export demand rises, prices are likely to strengthen further.
