Market and trends
★ Prolonged weak prices, rising soybean oil imports, and varying domestic and export demand for soymeal have clearly impacted sowing.
★ Since 1 August, soybean prices have shown an upward trend.
★ In the current oil year, from September to July, soybean oil imports reached 35.21 lakh tonnes, which is 12.62 lakh tonnes higher than last year’s 22.59 lakh tonnes.
★ Such large-scale imports are bound to affect crushing activity, while DDGS has further added to the pressure.
★ Looking ahead to the festive season, only a marginal rise in soybean prices is expected.
