Increase in Cardamom Exports
★ Cardamom exports are expected to reach a record level of 14,000 tonnes in the current year.
★ Demand for Indian cardamom has increased ahead of Ramadan due to crop losses in Guatemala.
★ Cardamom harvesting in India will continue until March 2026.
★ Production had declined last year due to drought, but this year output is expected to remain strong on the back of good rainfall.
★ Guatemalan cardamom is usually cheaper than Indian cardamom, but lower production in Guatemala has improved export demand for Indian cardamom.
★ Demand from Gulf countries is rising ahead of Ramadan.
