India is the biggest buyer of Canadian peas and lentils
India's significant role as a buyer of Canadian pulses, with key details about pea, lentil, and kabuli chana exports:
Peas
India received 5,94,514 tonnes of Canadian peas between August and October, making it the largest buyer.
October's pea exports totaled 4,37,629 tonnes, marking a 28% decline from the previous month.
Cumulative pea exports to date stand at 10.66 lakh tonnes, a 26% increase compared to last year.
Lentils
India also led lentil imports in October, accounting for 38% of the 3,32,400 tonnes exported globally.
From August to October, total lentil exports reached 5,64,834 tonnes, up 17% from the same period last year.
Kabuli Chana
October saw 12,516 tonnes of kabuli chana exports, up 1% from the previous month.
Over three months (August–October), exports amounted to 32,740 tonnes, down from 47,997 tonnes in the same period last year.
