Indonesia to increase palm oil exports
★ Indonesia is planning to increase its palm oil exports to 25 million tonnes in 2025, which is 1 million tonnes more than the previous year.
★ In the first quarter of 2025, palm oil exports declined by more than 5%. In April, only 1.31 million tonnes were exported, compared to 2.3 million tonnes in March.
★ In May, palm oil production rose to 47.8 million tonnes, helping revive export momentum.
★ From January to April 2025, Indonesia exported 7.4 million tonnes of palm oil, slightly lower than 7.58 million tonnes during the same period in 2024.
Major importing countries:
European Union: 757,000 tonnes
China: 865,000 tonnes
India: 718,000 tonnes
Pakistan: 893,000 tonnes
★ Due to rising production, exports are expected to increase further in the coming months.
