USDA reported a private export sale of 120,000 metric tons of corn for 2024/25 shipment to an unknown destination this morning.
Export Sales data will be released on Thursday, with traders expecting old crop corn sales for the week of April 24 to be in the range of 0.7 to 1.5 million metric tons (MMT), and new crop sales between 0 and 200,000 metric tons.
According to EIA data, ethanol production increased by 7,000 barrels per day during the week ending April 25, reaching a total of 1.04 million barrels per day.
Ethanol stocks continued to decline, falling by 92,000 barrels to 25.89 million—the lowest level since early January. Ethanol input by refiners decreased by 13,000 barrels per day to 908,000 bpd, while exports rose 66,000 bpd week-over-week to 141,000 bpd.
Traders expect corn used for ethanol production in March to decline 2.6% from a year ago to 459.9 million bushels. This report will be published Thursday afternoon.
