According to the USDA Crop Progress report released after Monday's market close, 94% of the corn crop across the U.S. had emerged, matching the five-year average pace. Condition ratings improved by 1 point to 72% good to excellent, aligning with trade expectations. The Brugler500 index also rose by 1 point to 379.
USDA’s Export Inspections report showed that 1.673 million metric tons (65.86 million bushels) of corn were exported in the week ending June 6. This was 21.16% higher than the same week last year but 3.23% lower than the previous week. During this period, Japan received 348,437 MT, Mexico 336,184 MT, and South Korea 192,347 MT. Since September 1, total marketing year exports have reached 52.05 MMT (2.049 billion bushels), 28.46% higher than the same period last year.
Brazil’s second corn crop harvest is now 5.2% complete, significantly behind last year’s 21% progress.
