ICE cotton futures closed Wednesday’s session down 52 to 66 points, as futures pulled back following Tuesday’s USDA-led rally. The U.S. dollar index fell \$0.302 to 97.625, while crude oil futures dropped another 45 cents.
The Seam reported 1,066 bales sold in Tuesday’s online auction at an average price of 60.98 cents/lb. On August 12, the Cotlook A Index was up 20 points to 78.20 cents. ICE cotton stocks were steady on August 11, with certified stocks at 18,242 bales. USDA’s Adjusted World Price (AWP) was down 13 points from last week at 54.39 cents/lb and will be updated on Thursday.
