International Cotton Market
ICE Cotton futures recovered some of the week’s earlier losses on Friday, with contracts closing 15 to 21 points higher. However, December futures still ended the week 110 points lower. The U.S. Dollar Index fell by $0.130 on Friday to 97.410, while crude oil rebounded slightly, gaining $0.21 per barrel.
The October 2 online auction from The Seam reported 3,071 bales sold at an average price of 62.46 cents/lb. The Cotlook A Index fell 20 points on Thursday to 76.95 cents. ICE cotton certified stocks remained unchanged at 17,891 bales as of October 2.
