ICE cotton futures declined a further 47 to 58 points during Wednesday’s session. External market pressures were a factor, with crude oil futures falling by $2.23/barrel and the U.S. dollar index rising $0.417 to 99.435.
Tuesday’s online auction from The Seam recorded sales of 854 bales at an average price of 65 cents per pound.
The Cotlook A Index fell 115 points on Tuesday, settling at 79 cents per pound.
ICE cotton stocks were steady on April 29, with certified stocks at 14,478 bales.
USDA’s Adjusted World Price (AWP) rose 145 points last Thursday to 54.88 cents per pound.
