ICE cotton futures traded steady to slightly lower on Tuesday, with some nearby contracts down 3 points. Crude oil futures rose another $1.60 per barrel to $61.10, while the US dollar index increased by 0.304 to 98.930.
On Monday, The Seam’s online auction showed sales of 21,284 bales at an average price of 60.09 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index was steady to slightly lower at 74.45 cents on January 12. ICE certified cotton stocks declined by 481 bales on January 12, bringing total certified stocks down to 11,029 bales. The Adjusted World Price was updated Thursday afternoon to 50.97 cents per pound, up 21 points from the previous week.
