Weekly export sales data for the week ending July 3 showed total soybean sales of 503,027 metric tons, within trade expectations of 300,000 to 600,000 MT. This was the highest total since mid-March and more than triple the same week last year. Unknown destinations accounted for 114,400 MT, while Egypt bought 88,600 MT.
New crop sales were 248,400 MT, within the expected range of 50,000 to 400,000 MT, and marked the second largest weekly sales for the marketing year.
Soybean meal sales totaled 578,528 MT, in line with the expected range of 125,000 to 950,000 MT. Of that, 207,688 MT was for the current marketing year, while 370,840 MT was booked for 2025/26.
Soybean oil sales were only 3,994 MT, near the lower end of the 0 to 30,000 MT estimate.
CONAB trimmed its 2024/25 soybean production estimate for Brazil by 0.12 MMT to 169.48 MMT. However, ahead of the USDA report on Friday, traders expect a slight increase of 0.4 MMT to 169.4 MMT.
