Domestic Soybean Market
★ Soybean prices in domestic mandis are under pressure and are trading well below the MSP.
★ Prices are currently around ₹4200–₹4300 per quintal.
★ The decline in prices is due to several factors including large-scale imports of soybean oil, weak export demand for soymeal impacting crushing activity, and rising demand for DDGS (Distillers Dried Grains with Solubles).
★ It remains to be seen whether India imports soybeans from the U.S.
★ If such imports happen, it would not be a positive development for the domestic market.
★ Due to unremunerative prices, farmers are reducing soybean sowing.
★ With the upcoming festive season, a slight improvement in soybean and soybean oil prices is expected.
