According to NASS Crop Progress data, by Sunday, 95% of the US soybean crop was blooming, with 82% setting pods, both in line with normal. Crop conditions held steady at 68% good/excellent, though the Brugler500 index slipped 1 point to 373.
Rainfall over the past few days covered parts of the Dakotas, Minnesota, northern Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin, northeast Illinois, and northwest Indiana. The next week looks drier.
Export Inspections data showed 473,605 MT (17.4 mbu) of soybeans shipped in the week ending August 14, 16.6% above the same week last year but 13% below the prior week. Egypt was the largest buyer with 126,750 MT, followed by 109,887 MT to Mexico and 76,141 MT to Taiwan. Marketing year shipments have now reached 48.867 MMT (1.795 bbu), 11.6% higher year over year.
