Traders likely squared up their positions after a few days of buying, as hopes rose for easing trade tensions ahead of the Trump/Xi meeting later this month.
In the coming week, parts of southeastern Nebraska, Iowa, and the Dakotas are expected to receive 1 to 2 inches of rainfall, which may halt harvest activities in those areas. Most other growing regions are expected to receive less than half an inch, allowing harvest to continue with a few exceptions.
Due to the government shutdown, Monday’s Crop Progress report is likely to be delayed.
