According to CFTC data, speculative funds added 4,898 contracts to their net long position in soybean futures and options trading, bringing the total net long position to 31,067 contracts by Tuesday.
Overnight, China announced tariff relief on some products, but soybeans were not included. Nonetheless, it suggests Beijing may be experiencing economic pressure.
According to Thursday morning’s export sales report, total soybean export commitments now stand at 47.056 MMT, which is 13% higher than the same period in 2024. This is 95% of USDA’s export estimate, matching the average pace of 95%.
