USDA reported a private export sale of 168,000 metric tons of soybeans to China this morning, while 152,404 metric tons were reported as sold to Mexico.
Late Monday afternoon, President Trump threatened to impose a 25% tariff on any country doing business with Iran, with the biggest concern focused on China. There has been no response from China so far.
NOPA data will be released on Thursday, with traders expecting a total soybean crush of 224.8 million bushels in December.
On Tuesday, Sinograin sold 1.1 million metric tons of soybeans in an auction of Chinese state reserves.
According to ANEC, Brazil’s soybean exports for January are estimated at 3.73 million metric tons, which is 1.33 million metric tons higher than the previous estimate.
