According to individual state crop progress reports, 48% of Kansas (KS) winter wheat was rated as "Good/Excellent" (gd/ex), a 2% decrease from the previous week. The Brugler500 index fell by 6 points to 331. In Texas (TX), the rating remained steady at 28% "Good/Excellent," while the Brugler500 index rose by 1 point to 283. The upcoming week is expected to be relatively dry across the Southern Plains as the crop begins emerging from dormancy.
According to USDA's export inspection report, a total of 482,658 metric tons (18.8 million bushels) of wheat was exported during the week ending March 13. This is more than double the previous week’s volume and 24.89% higher than the same week in 2024. South Korea was the top destination this week, receiving 111,616 metric tons, followed by Japan with 108,097 metric tons and Mexico with 66,299 metric tons.
Since the beginning of the marketing year, total wheat exports have reached 16.367 million metric tons (601.34 million bushels), which is 18.16% higher compared to the same period last year.
