According to the Commitment of Traders report, managed money reduced its net short position in Chicago wheat futures and options by 6,510 contracts, leaving it at 89,929 contracts. Meanwhile, in KC wheat, they increased their net short position by 9,252 contracts, bringing it to 56,624 contracts.
Export sales data indicates that 21.483 MMT of wheat has been sold for shipment since June 1, which is 14% higher than the same period last year. However, this is only 96% of USDA’s forecast, compared to the 103% average pace.
According to the latest FranceAgriMer estimates, 74% of France’s soft wheat crop is in good to excellent condition, down from 75% the previous week.
