According to the 7-day precipitation forecast (QPF) by NOAA, heavy rainfall of 1 to 5+ inches is expected next week from Kansas (KS) to Texas (TX).
The weekly Crop Progress report shows that 30% of the spring wheat crop has been planted, ahead of the 5-year average of 21% but slightly below the 34% estimate.
As of April 27, 27% of the U.S. winter wheat crop had headed, 5 percentage points ahead of the normal pace.
Winter wheat condition ratings improved by 4%, with 49% of the crop rated good/excellent.
The Brugler500 Index rose by 9 points to 334.
State-wise improvements were seen in:
Kansas (KS): +16 points
Nebraska (NE): +18 points
Texas (TX): +7 points
Only Arkansas (AR), Colorado (CO), Michigan (MI), North Carolina (NC), and Ohio (OH) showed deterioration.
According to the European Commission, from July 1 to April 27, 2024/25 soft wheat exports totaled 17.467 million metric tons (MMT), down 9.7 MMT from the same period last year.
SovEcon raised its 2024/25 Russian wheat export forecast by 0.2 MMT to 40.7 MMT. The 2025/26 forecast was also increased by 0.6 MMT to 39.7 MMT.
