International Wheat Market Update:
The Texas Crop Production report, released on Monday, indicated that 42% of winter wheat is rated as good/excellent (gd/ex), with the Brugler500 Index at 322, an improvement from last week's 321 and significantly higher than the same period last year.
According to the USDA Export Inspections report, a total of 484,544 metric tons (17.8 million bushels) of wheat were shipped during the week ending January 23. This is more than double compared to the same week last year and 85.09% higher than the previous week. Japan was the largest destination, receiving 144,037 metric tons, followed by South Korea with 132,710 metric tons.
Total shipments for the marketing year now stand at 13.764 million metric tons (505.73 million bushels), up 25.04% compared to the same period in the 2023/24 marketing year.
