Kabuli gram price stable in North America amid limited trade

Panama. In North America, Kabuli gram is mainly produced in three countries - Mexico, Canada and United States of America (USA).

At present, due to the vigilance of foreign importers and limited demand, its price has almost stabilized there. A few days ago, there was a slight increase in the market, but now the situation has become normal again.

In Canada, the price of Kabuli gram with large grains of number 2 category remains stable between 38-40 cents per pound and trade analysts believe that it can improve only if there is strong demand from importers.

Government agency - StatsCan has estimated the average yield rate of gram in Canada to be around 25 bushels per acre, but considering the productivity of other crops, this figure seems a bit high.

Although this time the area and production of gram has increased in Canada, but in India the production has decreased to the lowest level after the 2018-19 season.

As a result, the price of gram increased drastically and it seems difficult for the price of gram in India to come down much till the import from Australia starts.

The import of gram from Australia to India is expected to increase from November-December. During these months, there will also be a massive sowing of gram in India.

This time the area is expected to increase and if there is an indication of increase in production, the market may become stable or soft to a great extent.

By then, the festive demand for gram will also have ended. Buyers in Mexico, America and Canada are currently showing less interest in buying Kabuli gram, due to which stability is being seen in prices.
