Kharif 2025: Sugarcane Sowing Remains Almost Stable

Previous Year (2024): 54.88 lakh hectares
Increase: 0.19 lakh hectares
★ Sugarcane takes nearly a year to mature. The ongoing sowing currently pertains to the 2026 crushing season, while the 2025 season planting is almost complete, with fresh crushing expected to begin after October.
★ Last year, sugar production declined due to several factors. However, this year, much will depend on how the monsoon progresses. If rainfall is favourable, an improvement in production is likely.
