Madhya Pradesh Monsoon Update: IMD Issues Rain Alerts
★ Several districts of Madhya Pradesh including Jabalpur, Rewa, Shahdol, Sagar, Mandla, Sheopur, Seoni, Umaria, and Chhatarpur have been experiencing continuous rainfall for over a week now. This persistent downpour has led to flood-like conditions in many areas.
★ Since the onset of the monsoon on June 16, the state has witnessed heavy rainfall in multiple regions.
Rain Alerts by IMD
July 15 – Heavy Rainfall (Yellow Alert):
★ Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Agar-Malwa, Guna, Shivpuri, Sheopur, Morena, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Panna, Satna, Rewa, Mauganj, Sidhi, and Singrauli.
★ These districts could receive up to 4.5 inches of rain in the next 24 hours.
Light Rain Alert:
★ Other districts may also witness light rainfall along with thunder and lightning.
July 16 – Very Heavy Rainfall (Orange Alert):
★ Rewa, Mauganj, Sidhi, Singrauli, Shahdol, and Anuppur.
Heavy downpour up to 8 inches expected.
Heavy Rainfall (Yellow Alert):
★ Gwalior, Morena, Bhind, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Panna, Satna, Umaria, Dindori, Mandla, and Balaghat.

July 17 – Very Heavy Rainfall (Orange Alert):
★ Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Panna, Satna, Rewa, Mauganj, Sidhi, and Singrauli.
Heavy Rainfall (Yellow Alert):
★ Gwalior, Sheopur, Morena, Bhind, Datia, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Sagar, Damoh, Katni, Maihar, Umaria, Shahdol, Dindori, and Anuppur.
★ Due to continuous rainfall, sowing activities have slowed down in several areas. If this pattern continues, it could potentially impact the Kharif crops across the state.
