Maize prices strengthened by ethanol demand, likely to stay firm until new Kharif crop arrives
★ Maize prices across the country are witnessing an upward trend. Rising demand from ethanol production and steady consumption in the poultry sector have supported the market.

According to the latest data:
★ Delhi UP Line Bilty stood at ₹2,300 per quintal on August 18, down by ₹100 compared to August 16. However, it is higher by ₹100 against July and ₹125 compared to June.
★ Etah market recorded ₹2,100, lower by ₹50 from the previous session. Still, it is up by ₹150 compared to both July and June.
★ Bhusawal prices remained steady at ₹2,310. While down by ₹10 compared to July, they are stronger by ₹80 from June.
★ Gulabbagh prices were at ₹2,400, gaining ₹50 over the last session. This is an increase of ₹50 compared to July and a sharp rise of ₹170 over June.
★ Ethanol demand has been the key driver behind firm maize prices. Experts suggest that prices may continue to improve until the arrival of the new Kharif crop.
