Malaysia Raises Export Tax
★ Malaysia has increased the export tax on crude palm oil (CPO) by one percentage point to 10% for September shipments.
★ This marks the third consecutive monthly hike in the export tax rate.
★ According to the Malaysian Palm Oil Board, the reference price for CPO has been set at 4,053.43 ringgit (approximately \$860.33) per tonne for September, up from 3,864.12 ringgit per tonne in August.
★ The increase in export duty is expected to raise overall export costs.
