MP Wheat Procurement: 2.2 MMT Additional Purchase Approved
★ In a relief for farmers in Madhya Pradesh, the central government has approved an additional 2.2 million tonnes of wheat procurement, taking the total target to करीब 10 million tonnes, up from the earlier 7.8 million tonnes.
★ The Chief Minister said that with bumper production this year, all farmers’ wheat will be procured, and the procurement deadline may be extended if needed.
★ However, shortage of jute bags and export challenges remain key concerns.
