Myanmar pulses exports: 2025 vs 2024
Urad
★ During January–December 2025, Myanmar’s total urad exports stood at 8.46 lakh tonnes, compared with 9.04 lakh tonnes in the same period of 2024. This reflects a year-on-year decline of about 57 thousand tonnes.
★ In 2025, the highest monthly export of urad was recorded in September at 1.16 lakh tonnes, while the lowest was in June at around 50 thousand tonnes.
★ In comparison, during 2024 the highest urad exports were seen in May at 1.03 lakh tonnes, while the lowest were in December at around 55 thousand tonnes.

Tur (pigeon pea)
★ The situation was reverse in the case of tur. In 2025, Myanmar’s total tur exports increased to 3.66 lakh tonnes, compared with around 3.00 lakh tonnes in 2024, marking a year-on-year rise of nearly 66 thousand tonnes.
★ In 2025, the highest exports of tur were recorded in October at over 50 thousand tonnes, while the lowest were seen in January at about 5.6 thousand tonnes. In 2024, the peak export month was February at around 33 thousand tonnes, while the lowest exports were recorded in July at about 12.7 thousand tonnes.
★ Overall, tur exports from Myanmar performed better in 2025 compared with urad, while urad exports remained under pressure on an annual basis.
