NAFED invites tender for processing and packaging of Bharat Brand products

New Delhi. National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED), an agency under the Union Ministry of Agriculture and an authorized body for the sale of food products with the Bharat Brand name, has invited tenders from interested firms for processing, packaging and transportation of Bharat Brand products at the all-India level.

The tender is to be done through e-auction on NAFED's e-portal. The products for which tenders have been invited include gram dal, whole gram, moong dhuli, whole moong, lentil malka fragmented, rice and flour.

The date of auction of the products has been fixed as October 19, 2024 but its time will be different for different areas and it will be held in two phases.

The auction centers include NAFED RBD (Delhi), Chandigarh, Lucknow, Patna, Mumbai, Raipur, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Bangalore.

Under this tender, 3600 tonnes of gram dal, 900 tonnes of whole gram, 1800 tonnes of washed moong, 1800 tonnes of whole moong, 1800 tonnes of split masoor malka, 4500 tonnes of rice and 4500 tonnes of wheat flour will be auctioned which will need to be processed and packaged and delivered to NAFED.

The quantity of 400 tonnes of gram dal, 100 tonnes of whole gram, 200 tonnes of washed moong, 200 tonnes of whole moong, 200 tonnes of split masoor malka, 500 tonnes of rice and 500 tonnes of flour has been fixed for each of the auction centres.

It is worth mentioning that the Central Government has permitted NAFED to start the second phase of sale of these food products at its outlets and for this, the condition has been kept that the entire quantity of the previous stock should be sold.

In comparison to the first phase, during the second phase the maximum retail price of rice, flour, gram, gram dal has been increased whereas the price of moong dal has been kept constant and masoor dal has been included for the first time.
