★ बांग्लादेश ट्रेड एंड टैरिफ कमीशन ने सरकार से चीनी आयात शुल्क घटाने को कहा ताकि देश में चीनी की तस्करी रुके व भाव कम हों।
★ रिपोर्ट में कहा गया कि भारतीय चीनी के भाव 45-50 रुपए प्रति किलो हैं परन्तु बांग्लादेश में चीनी के भाव 125-130 टका प्रति किलो चल रहे हैं जिसके कारण बड़ी मात्रा में हो रही है तस्करी।
★ पिछले 5 वर्षों से बांग्लादेश में औसतन 18.5 लाख टन कच्ची चीनी का किया गया आयात।
★ 2023-24 में यह आयात 4.57 लाख टन हो पाया।
★ बांग्लादेश चीनी आयात पर 30% ड्यूटी लगाता है जिसे घटाकर 15% करने की रखी गयी मांग।

★ Bangladesh Trade and Tariff Commission asked the government to reduce sugar import duty so that sugar smuggling in the country stops and prices come down.
★ The report said that the price of Indian sugar is Rs 45-50 per kg, but the price of sugar in Bangladesh is 125-130 taka per kg, due to which smuggling is taking place in large quantities.
★ For the last 5 years, an average of 18.5 lakh tonnes of raw sugar has been imported in Bangladesh.
★ In 2023-24, this import was 4.57 lakh tonnes.
★ Bangladesh imposes 30% duty on sugar imports, which has been demanded to be reduced to 15%.
