★ गैर बासमती चावल पर लगने वाले 490 $/टन के न्यूनतम निर्यात भाव (MEP) घटने की स्वीकृति के लिए मंत्रीमंडल ने भरी हामी।
★ पारबॉयल्ड चावल पर आयात शुल्क 10% किया जा सकता है। सर्कुलर आना अभी बाकी।
★ निर्यात नियमों में ढ़ील तभी दी गयी जब देश में चावल का उत्पादन बढ़ा।
★ केंद्रीय पूल में स्टॉक कई सालों के उच्चतम स्तर पर पहुंचा।
★ 5% भारतीय वाइट राइस के भाव 488-492$/टन एफओबी, पाकिस्तान के 481-485$/टन तथा भारतीय 25% वाइट राइस के भाव 491-495$/टन व पाकिस्तान के 440-444$/टन चल रहे हैं।
★ थाईलैंड व वियतनाम में चावल के भाव 500$/टन से अधिक।
★ 10% ड्यूटी लगने के बाद भारतीय पारबॉयल्ड चावल के भाव 490-494$/टन हैं, जो पाकिस्तान में 500-504$/टन है।
★ बासमती चावल निर्यात में सुधार, अप्रैल से अगस्त तक 23.22 लाख टन किया गया निर्यात जो गत वर्ष इसी अवधि के दौरान 20.1 लाख टन था।
★ गैर बासमती चावल निर्यात में देखी गयी गिरावट। अप्रैल से अगस्त तक 40.73 लाख टन गैर बासमती चावल का हुआ निर्यात जो गत वर्ष 64.55 लाख टन था।
★ पूर्वी व पश्चिमी अफ्रीकन देशों से गैर बासमती चावल की निकल रही है आयात डिमांड।
★ USDA ने इस वर्ष भारत में चावल उत्पादन 1390 लाख टन का दिया अनुमान।
★ बढ़ते उत्पादन व पुराना स्टॉक अधिक होने से चावल/धान की कीमतों में विशेष तेजी की उम्मीद कम।
★ जो लाभ मिलेगा वह केवल निर्यातक तक ही होगा सीमित।

★ The cabinet has given its approval for reduction of minimum export price (MEP) of 490 $/ton on non-basmati rice.
★ Import duty on parboiled rice can be reduced to 10%. Circular is yet to come.
★ Export rules were relaxed only when rice production increased in the country.
★ Stock in the central pool reached the highest level in many years.
★ The price of 5% Indian white rice is 488-492 $/ton FOB, Pakistan's 481-485 $/ton and Indian 25% white rice's price is 491-495 $/ton and Pakistan's 440-444 $/ton.
★ The price of rice in Thailand and Vietnam is more than 500 $/ton.
★ After imposition of 10% duty, the price of Indian parboiled rice is 490-494$/ton, which is 500-504$/ton in Pakistan.
★ Improvement in Basmati rice exports, 23.22 lakh tons were exported from April to August, which was 20.1 lakh tons during the same period last year.
★ Decline observed in non-Basmati rice exports. 40.73 lakh tons of non-Basmati rice were exported from April to August, which was 64.55 lakh tons last year.
★ Import demand for non-Basmati rice is emerging from East and West African countries.
★ USDA has estimated rice production in India to be 1390 lakh tons this year.
★ Due to increasing production and high old stock, there is less chance of any special increase in the prices of rice/paddy.
★ The benefit that will be received will be limited to the exporter only.
