News Capsule: NAFED to sell agri commodities on its own portal
★ National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) will launch its own e-auction portal Nafex.in for agricultural commodities from January 19.
★ The federation is also considering allowing state-level cooperative federations and agencies to conduct e-auctions on this portal.
★ At present, NAFED sells around 5.3 million tonnes of pulses and oilseeds through private platforms such as mjunction, NCDEX eMarkets (NeML) and E-Teach.
★ These private platforms charge buyers a 0.03% transaction fee.
