News Capsule: South Korea’s New Sesame Tender Raises Hopes for Indian Exporters, Prices May Firm Slightly
★ South Korea is expected to issue another sesame seed import tender in May, boosting optimism among Indian exporters for higher overseas sales.
★ Trade sources said arrivals from the new crop have already started, and the quality is reported to be good. Market participants believe Indian suppliers could secure a significant share in the upcoming tender, which may support export demand. If India wins sizable orders, sesame prices could witness a slight rise for some time.
★ Meanwhile, Tanzania’s sesame production is expected to remain at levels similar to last year. At present, prices of both hulled and unhulled sesame seeds are largely stable.
