★ After a long time, soybean prices have shown an uptrend, with fresh arrivals starting in mandis.
★ Rainfall and viral damage caused losses in some areas, but overall crop conditions remain satisfactory.
★ With reduced sowing area this season, production is estimated to shrink to 90–95 lakh tonnes.
★ In Madhya Pradesh, the Bhavantar scheme for MSP support has been reintroduced. It remains to be seen whether the scheme succeeds this time. The previous version had faced large-scale misuse, so strict monitoring will be essential.
★ A key question remains: Are farmers in other states receiving fair prices, or is there discrimination?
★ We believe that in the coming days, higher-quality soybean may fetch significantly better prices.
