News Capsule: Telangana raises maize procurement limit
★ Considering higher yields in several regions, the Telangana Government has increased the maize procurement limit from 18 quintals to 25 quintals per acre.
★ This year, the total maize area in the State has expanded to 2.60 lakh hectares, up by two lakh hectares compared to last year. The government plans to procure 8 lakh tonnes of maize through 125 procurement centres, with total output estimated at 11.5 lakh tonnes.
