New Delhi. The latest data of the Union Agriculture Ministry shows that during the current year, till September 6, the total production area of ​​Kharif crops at the national level jumped to 1092.33 lakh hectares,

which is 2.2 percent 23.04 lakh hectares more than the sowing area of ​​1069.29 lakh hectares during the same period last year.

Under this, especially the area of ​​paddy increased by 4 percent from 393.57 lakh hectares to 409.50 lakh hectares, which is more than the normal average area.

Due to some technical reasons, the figure of paddy area was kept stable at last week's level, but when the new data will be released on September 13, then the revision changes will be visible in it. On August 30, 2023, the area of ​​paddy was recorded at 393.57 lakh hectares.

The production area of ​​oilseed crops has improved by 1.6 percent from 189.44 lakh hectares to 192.40 lakh hectares in which groundnut and soybean have a special contribution.

According to official data, compared to last year, during the current season, the production area of ​​soybean increased from 123.85 lakh hectares to 125.11 lakh hectares and the sowing area of ​​groundnut jumped from 43.39 lakh hectares to 47.49 lakh hectares.

According to industry analysts, sowing of soybean has been completed and the condition of the crop is good. If there is no heavy rain, then there can be bumper production of soybean this time.

The area of ​​pulse crops also increased by 7.5 percent from 117.39 lakh hectares last year to 126.20 lakh hectares this time. Under this,

the production area of ​​Arhar (tuvar) jumped from 40.74 lakh hectares to 45.78 lakh hectares and the sowing area of ​​moong increased from 31.05 lakh hectares to 35.06 lakh hectares while the area of ​​Urad fell from 31.71 lakh hectares to 30.02 lakh hectares. The area of ​​Moth has also declined.
