It looks like Maharashtra has had a successful Rabi sowing season this year, with an increase in the total area covered by crops, particularly in cereals and pulses.

With the area under key crops like jowar, wheat, maize, and gram expanding significantly, it’s clear that farmers have responded to favorable market conditions, especially for wheat and gram, which saw substantial growth.

The overall increase of 6 lakh hectares in sowing area suggests optimism for better yields this season, especially since weather conditions have remained normal, which bodes well for the crops.

The rise in wheat and gram cultivation is particularly notable, as it signals a shift in priorities based on market prices. It's also great news for the pulse sector, with gram production showing impressive growth.
