Lucknow. While monsoon rains are occurring in South India and the Northeast states, Uttar Pradesh is witnessing a mix of sunshine and intermittent rain. In western Uttar Pradesh, the weather is shifting frequently between cloudy skies and bright sunshine. The monsoon typically reaches the state by the end of the third week of June, so there is still some time before consistent rainfall is expected.

Due to the impact of a western disturbance, several parts of Uttar Pradesh experienced rainfall recently, leading to a slight drop in temperatures. Winds with speeds of 30-40 km per hour and more rain are expected in the coming days. According to the Meteorological Department, rain or thundershowers are likely across all regions of the state. Heavy rainfall is forecast in districts such as Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor and Amroha.

Moderate to heavy rain may occur in Moradabad, Sambhal, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri and Sitapur. Light to moderate rain is expected in Hardoi, Bahraich, Barabanki, Shravasti and Gonda. A heavy rainfall warning has been issued for Balrampur, Ayodhya, Siddharth Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar and Maharajganj. Rain is also predicted at several locations in Kushi Nagar, Gorakhpur, Deoria, Azamgarh, Mau and Ballia.

Despite the forecast of rain, severe heat conditions are likely to persist in many parts of Uttar Pradesh. For the next five to six days, the maximum temperature is expected to rise by 5-6 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature by 3-4 degrees Celsius, with some areas likely to reach temperatures of 45-46 degrees Celsius.
