Rajasthan Monsoon Update: Heavy Rain Across State, Alerts Issued in Multiple Districts
★ According to the latest map by the Meteorological Department, almost the entire state of Rajasthan is covered in blue—indicating very heavy rainfall. The monsoon is currently in full swing across the state.
★ In Jaipur city, intermittent rainfall began on Sunday evening around 6 PM and continued through Monday morning. Rural areas of Jaipur district also experienced persistent showers.
★ Sikar witnessed off-and-on rain throughout the night, and similar conditions are being reported in several other districts.
★ The Jaipur Meteorological Centre has issued an Orange Alert for 10 districts: Sirohi, Jalore, Kota, Bundi, Tonk, Bhilwara, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh, Jodhpur, and Bikaner.
★ A Yellow Alert has been issued for the remaining districts, excluding Pali, Nagaur, and Ajmer.
★ Due to the ongoing heavy rainfall, several small and large rivers and canals are in spate. Reports from rural areas indicate waterlogging and disruption in road transport.
★ From June 1 to July 13, the state usually receives around 107.3 mm of rainfall. However, this year, a total of 216.8 mm has been recorded so far—102% above average.
★ If the current pace of rainfall continues, there's a growing risk of waterlogging in fields, which could damage kharif crops. However, experts caution that it's too early to draw firm conclusions—conditions in the coming weeks will provide clearer insight.
