Rice Procurement for Buffer Stock Declined by 17% in February
★ Rice procurement during the kharif season increased by 2%, reaching 460 lakh tonnes as of February 28.
★ From October 2025 to February 2026, procurement rose 2% to 463 lakh tonnes, compared to 454.36 lakh tonnes in the same period last year.
★ The procurement target for the 2025–26 kharif season was set at 477.5 lakh tonnes, while the combined rabi and kharif procurement target was fixed at 545.22 lakh tonnes.
