Sharp Rise in Edible Oil Prices: Sunflower and Palm Oil Jump Nearly 30%
★ According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs (Price Monitoring Division), the average retail prices of major edible oils in India have seen a significant increase over the past year. However, most oil prices have remained stable or declined slightly in the past month.

Groundnut Oil: ₹188.03 (₹188.91 last year, -0.47%)
Mustard Oil: ₹176.23 (₹140.47 last year, +25.46%)
Vanaspati: ₹157.02 (₹126.36 last year, +24.26%)
Soya Oil: ₹146.65 (₹123.23 last year, +19.01%)
Sunflower Oil: ₹160.44 (₹122.97 last year, +30.47%)
Palm Oil: ₹130.33 (₹100.43 last year, +29.77%)

Mustard Oil recorded the highest monthly increase (+2.75%)
Palm Oil (-1.59%), Sunflower Oil (-0.14%), and Soya Oil (-0.10%) saw slight declines
Groundnut Oil remained nearly unchanged (-0.02%)

★ Over the year, sunflower and palm oil prices have surged by nearly 30%.
★ Mustard and vanaspati oil have also recorded a notable rise of 24–25%.
★ Despite changes in import duties on edible oils, prices continue to rise, clearly indicating that the Indian market remains heavily influenced by global trends.
