SOPA estimates 1.5 million tons of soybean arrivals in October

Indore. According to the latest monthly report of the Soybean Processors Association of India (SOPA), a leading organization in the domestic vegetable oil industry and trade sector, a total of 1.5 million tons of soybean arrived in markets across the country during the first month of the current marketing season (October-September) of 2025-26, i.e.,

October 2025, a decrease of 0.3 million tons from the 1.8 million tons in October 2024. However, soybean crushing increased from 0.95 million tons to 1.05 million tons. During this period, 45,000 tons were used for domestic consumption and 1,000 tons were exported.

SOPA estimates domestic soybean production to decline by 16.3 percent, or 2.046 million tons, from 12.582 million tons in the 2024-25 season to 10.536 million tons in the 2025-26 season.

According to SOPA's report, in the current marketing season of 2025-26, with a carryover stock of 4.66 lakh tonnes, production of 105.36 lakh tonnes, and imports of 6 lakh tonnes, the total availability of soybean will reach 116.02 lakh tonnes.

Of this, 12 lakh tonnes will be reserved for the next sowing season, and the remaining 104.02 lakh tonnes will be available for crushing and processing, among other purposes. At the end of October 2025, domestic soybean stocks stood at 87.10 lakh tonnes.

As for soybean meal, SOPA states that its production improved to 8.29 lakh tonnes in October 2025, while its total availability reached 8.97 lakh tonnes with a carryover stock of 68 thousand tonnes.

Of this, 1.63 lakh tonnes was exported, 70 thousand tonnes was used for food purposes, and 5.50 lakh tonnes was used for animal feed production. This left a stock of 1.14 lakh tonnes of soymilk on November 1, 2025. Soybean is being supplied well in the markets.
