Soyabean Refined Oil Prices Strengthen, Supported by Festive Demand and International Trends
★ Soyabean refined oil prices across the country continue to remain firm. Domestic festive demand and rising international consumption for biofuel have lent strong support to the market.
★ On August 18, MP soya refined averaged ₹1,255, up by ₹20 from August 11. Maharashtra soya refined stood at ₹1,265, gaining ₹15. JNPT soya refined touched ₹1,290, marking a ₹30 rise, while Kandla soya refined also increased by ₹20 to ₹1,255.
★ Compared to July and June, prices across all locations have shown strength. MP recorded a gain of ₹40 over July and ₹85 over June. Maharashtra rose by ₹45 and ₹105, respectively. JNPT gained ₹55 over July and ₹120 over June. Kandla posted a ₹35 rise over July and a significant ₹130 increase compared to June.
★ However, local and international demand for soyameal remains weak due to DDGS (Distillers Dried Grains with Solubles), resulting in reduced crushing activity. The market is currently highly dependent on imported oil prices.
★ Prices may rise further in the coming weeks driven by festive demand. Traders are advised to avoid heavy stocking, focus on regular trading, and book profits periodically to remain in a favorable position.
