USDA’s weekly report showed old crop soybean sales at 364,633 MT for the week ending April 16, a 4-week high and 72.64% above the same week last year. Egypt was the top buyer with 93,600 MT, followed by Japan at 78,700 MT. Sales for 2025/26 were just 5,000 MT, all to Malaysia.
Soybean meal sales were reported at 162,339 MT, on the lower end of the expected range of 150,000 to 500,000 MT. Soybean oil sales were 1,526 MT, within the expected range.
The International Grains Council reported a 1 MMT reduction in global soybean production for 2026/27, while usage increased by 2 MMT. Ending stocks were estimated at 79 MMT, down 4 MMT.
