Mumbai. Due to limited supply in major supplier countries, the price of sunflower oil is maintaining high levels, due to which its prices are likely to rise in important importing countries like India.
At present, the demand remains strong in the global market of sunflower oil amid limited supply, so the international market price is rising.
The arrival of new sunflower crop has started in the countries of the Black Sea region and its crushing-processing has also started increasing in Russia, Ukraine and Romania. Due to dry weather in Ukraine, sunflower production is expected to decline to 135-136 lakh tonnes this year.
The offer price of sunflower oil on CIF basis for October delivery in India is being reported to be $ 1238 per tonne and the offer price of Ukrainian origin sunflower oil on CIF basis for September shipment is being reported to be $ 1250 per tonne.
At present, good activity is being seen in the purchase and sale of sunflower oil from Russia and Ukraine, due to which the price of imported oil in the Indian market remains stable or strong.
If the price in the supplier countries increases, then its price will naturally increase in India as well. Demand is expected to increase in India during the festive season.
The offer price of Russian sunflower oil for August delivery to Turkey via the Black Sea waterway is being reported to be $1230 per tonne on CIF basis at Mersin/Iskenderun and it is being reported that 8-10 thousand tonnes of oil will be traded at this price level.
In the earlier contract, the price of sunflower oil on CIF basis was estimated at $1210 per tonne from Izmir and $1220 per tonne from Mersin.
Earlier, most of the sunflower oil was imported from Ukraine in India, but now Russia has gone far ahead of it and has become the largest supplier country.
Along with Russia and Ukraine, a good amount of sunflower oil is also imported from countries like Argentina and Romania.
