Guntur. There is a good arrival of red chilli in the important markets of the major producing states of South India, but due to the low quality of most of the goods,
exporters are showing less interest in its purchase and the traders of Disawari are also buying in limited quantity. As a result, softness or stability is being seen in the prices.
The sowing process has been completed in the top producing states like Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka and due to regular normal rainfall, the condition of the crop is said to be satisfactory.
On an average, there is information of daily arrival of 45-50 thousand bags of red chilli in Guntur market of Andhra Pradesh and the price is also almost stable amidst limited business.
It is being said that there is a good stock of red chilli in cold storage while farmers also have its stock.
There may be a possibility of a rise in the market when its consumption season starts in the winter days after October. Meanwhile, if there are no natural disasters and insect-disease outbreaks, the market may come under pressure.
In the coming months, there is a possibility of demand for red chilli in other major importing countries including China, Bangladesh and Malaysia, due to which the price of good quality goods may increase a bit.
At present, its arrival is very high. The domestic demand for red chilli is also normal. Trade analysts believe that as long as there is an excess of low quality goods in the major producing markets,
it will be difficult for the price of red chilli to increase much. In view of the possibility of further softening of prices in the coming time, buyers are currently avoiding making new deals in large quantities.
