Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to provide up to a 30 percent freight (transportation) subsidy to exporters, encouraging the export of agricultural products and industrial goods from the state.
A government order issued by the Chief Secretary of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department states that the state assistance (subsidy) will be provided under the Uttar Pradesh Export Promotion Policy 2025-2030. Exporters of agricultural products and industrial goods will benefit equally. This will significantly help in increasing exports.
According to the government notification, this subsidy will be provided to exporters under the Air Freight Scheme to simplify and streamline the export process.
To avail of this scheme, exporters must apply within six months or 180 days. Applications received after this date will not be accepted. After submitting the application, exporters can make necessary amendments within two weeks.
The notification clarifies that upon receiving applications from exporters, the District Deputy Commissioner of Industries will inspect them and, after completing the processing within three weeks, forward them to the Export Promotion Bureau.
After receiving applications, a committee headed by the Export Commissioner will grant final approval.
This committee will also include the Finance Controller of the Directorate of Industries and Industrial Promotion and the Deputy Commissioners of Industries of the respective districts. The transportation subsidy amount will be transferred online to the accounts of fully qualified and eligible exporters.
Uttar Pradesh exports a large number of agricultural, food, and industrial products, and this government subsidy scheme will provide significant relief to the state's exporters.
