विश्व में तिल की स्तिथि 
भारत
★ तिल के उत्पादन में वृद्धि  के बावजूद, गुणवत्ता और संदूषण के मुद्दों बाजार जूझ रहे हैं। 
★ अच्छी क्वालिटी न होने से वैश्विक बाजार में नहीं मिल रहे अच्छे भाव।
★ इन चुनौतियों ने तुर्की और पाकिस्तान जैसे अन्य उत्पादकों ने यूरोपीय संघ को निर्यात बढ़ाने का दिया मौका।

पाकिस्तान
★ तिल के बाजार में एक महत्वपूर्ण खिलाड़ी के रूप में उभरा।
★ FAO डेटा 2023 के अनुसार पाकिस्तान ने 2.05 लाख टन किया तिल का निर्यात कर सूडान और नाइजर के बाद तीसरा सबसे बड़ा निर्यातक का दर्जा मिला।

इथियोपिया
★ देश में चल रही अशांति से इथियोपिया में जिस एरिया में 70% से अधिक तिल का उत्पादन होता में कृषि गतिविधियों हुई बाधित। 
★ कई किसानों को विस्थापित किया है जिससे तिल के उत्पादन और निर्यात के लिए महत्वपूर्ण बुनियादी ढांचे को नुकसान पहुंचा।

★ अप्रैल 2023 में शुरू हुए अशांति से तिल की खेती को बुरी तरह प्रभावित।

★ देश आंतरिक चुनौतियों का भी सामना कर रहा है, जिसमें बढ़ती मुद्रास्फीति, अस्थिर विनिमय दर और ईंधन सब्सिडी को हटाना शामिल है। 
★ उपरोक्त कारणों से कृषि उत्पादकता और निर्यात क्षमताओं को बाधित किया।

★ इसके अलावा, अन्य वैश्विक कारणों जैसे कि लाल सागर क्षेत्र में तनाव से आवश्यक व्यापार मार्गों आयात निर्यात हुआ प्रभावित।

आने वाली चुनौतियाँ
★ तिल की कीमतों को कई कारक-प्रभावित करते हैं जैसे कि छिलके वाले बीज, तेल की मात्रा, रंग  और क्षति शामिल हैं।
★ साल-दर-साल कीमतों में महत्वपूर्ण अस्थिरता रही, भारत में भाव 11% से अधिक और और पाकिस्तान में 55% बढे।
★ पिछले टेंडर में भारत को अच्छी मात्रा में टेंडर मिले थे, यही सिलसिला अगर अगले 2 टेंडर में जारी रहता है तो घरेलु कीमतों में वृद्धि आने की प्रबल संभावनाएं बन सकती हैं।

India
★ Despite the increase in sesame production, the market is facing quality and contamination issues.
★ Due to lack of good quality, good prices are not being received in the global market.
★ These challenges have given other producers like Turkey and Pakistan an opportunity to increase exports to the European Union.

Pakistan
★ Emerged as an important player in the sesame market.
★ According to FAO data 2023, Pakistan exported 2.05 lakh tonnes of sesame and got the status of the third largest exporter after Sudan and Niger.

Ethiopia
★ The ongoing unrest in the country has disrupted agricultural activities in Ethiopia, where more than 70% of sesame is produced.
★ Displaced many farmers, causing damage to infrastructure critical to sesame production and export.

★ Sesame cultivation severely affected by unrest that began in April 2023.

★ The above factors have hampered agricultural productivity and export capabilities.

★ In addition, other global factors such as tensions in the Red Sea region have affected essential trade routes.

Upcoming Challenges
★ Sesame prices are influenced by many factors including dehulled seeds, oil content, colour and damage.
★ There has been significant volatility in prices year-on-year, with prices rising more than 11% in India and 55% in Pakistan.
★ India received a good number of tenders in the last tender, if this trend continues in the next 2 tenders, there is a strong possibility of an increase in domestic prices.
